Giving Stickers as Gifts: Wrapping, Combining, Making It Personal

Inspiration 0 Comments

One sticker on its own is a nice gesture, but not a gift. Three stickers that tell a joke together are — and it's the kind of joke people talk about longer than the gift voucher sitting next to it. The difference isn't the price. It's the selection.

The principle: one idea, several designs

A set thrown together at random looks like clearance stock. A set with a recognisable idea behind it looks like a decision. The idea can be simple — it just has to be there.

  • By person: Everything that fits one specific human. The colleague who's late every morning gets three work-themed designs.
  • By place: For the laptop, for the car, for the workshop. The set then automatically comes with a purpose.
  • By tone: All equally crude, or all equally harmless. One outlier on the tame side makes the whole set feel uncertain.
  • By inside joke: One design only two people get, plus two everyone gets. That's the best mix.

From shipping: the most common combo in orders that go out as gifts is "Can we make it, Bob?" alongside "Sticker on our necks". We don't know who these people are, but we like them.

Occasions that work

The classic case. Secret Santa budgets usually sit at €5–15 — exactly the range for a set of three to five designs. Important: if you barely know the person, stick to the tamer half of the range — meme designs almost always land. The joke needs to carry itself with zero context.

Someone leaving the company usually gets a card nobody keeps. A set with designs about the old job lasts longer and ends up on the next laptop. Inside jokes from the team are the best pick here.

A new flat means a new fridge, a new washing machine, a new toolbox — all blank surfaces. A moving-in set is basically a piece of furniture, just cheaper.

A first car is the most sticker-friendly object in the world. Car stickers with traffic and parking jokes work best here. A hint towards the rear window instead of the number plate doesn't hurt either.

Wrapping

Stickers are flat, light, and fold easily. Three things are enough for wrapping that looks better than what it cost:

  1. A piece of firm card the size of the sticker as a backing — that reliably stops any folding.
  2. A clear sleeve or a glassine bag around it. Costs pennies, looks deliberate.
  3. A handwritten note with one line about why these designs specifically. That's the part that counts.

Envelope, ribbon, three designs. A sticker doesn't need more wrapping than that.
The cheapest upgrade Throw in a blank surface to stick them on — a small tin, a clear sleeve, a notebook. Then the gift has a home straight away instead of ending up in a drawer.

What we do ourselves

Every parcel that leaves us gets one extra sticker thrown in. It doesn't pay for itself and we don't care — it's the part that shows up most often in reviews. So if you're giving something as a gift: the surprise sticker is the idea you're welcome to steal.

A gift isn't what it cost. It's what shows someone actually thought about it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have it delivered straight to the person I'm gifting it to?
Yes, just enter a different delivery address at checkout. The invoice then goes to you by email and doesn't sit in the parcel.
Are there gift vouchers?
If a voucher is available in the shop, you'll find it in the range. Otherwise, our honest recommendation: a hand-picked set says more about you than an amount does.
How fast is shipping before Christmas?
Orders placed by 2pm go out the same working day. Couriers still run slower in the run-up to Christmas though — plan a week of buffer rather than three days.
